Crop Trap

Crop Trap

CROP TRAP is a specific food attractant for the capture of Ceratitis capitata. It is an effective and 100% ecological system for the control of the fruit fly.

The evaporation of CROP TRAP causes the emission of volatile compounds, mainly amines and organic acids, of high attractive power for the adults of this pest, especially for the females. CROP TRAP is applied inside traps (fly traps provided with holes) to facilitate the emission of volatile compounds and the capture of the fly.

100% ecological solution
Leaves no residue on the fruits
High selectivity
Easy to use

The main crops affected by Ceratitis capitata are citrus and fruit trees. Among these, the following species stand out:
Citrus: Oranges, Tangerines, Lemons, Grapefruits.
Fruit trees: Peach, Apricot, Loquat, Nectarine, Cherry, Plum, Avocado, Blueberry, Fig, Persimmon, Cherimoya, Strawberry, Pomegranate, Currant, Kiwi, Mango, Apple, Pear, Quince, Pineapple, Banana, etc.

Dose:

The density of flycatchers per hectare will depend on the pressure of the pest, the crop to be protected and the strategy of use (monitoring, mass capture, perimeter strategy, etc.), a number of between 70 and 120 flycatchers being usual for good control of population. The placement is normally done on the south or southeast face of the tree, at a height that can vary between 1.5 and 2.2 meters in height.

The amount of CROP TRAP to use is about 360-600 mL per trap, depending on the type of flycatcher used.

In citrus, vine and fruit crops, flycatchers will be placed in the field about 45 days before the commercial maturity of the fruit.
