•  Acid soils

•  Alluvial soils (poor with leaching)

•  Excess of potassium or calcium fertilization

•  Low levels of nitrogen fertilization

•  High levels of sodium in the soil

•  Very superficial root systems

Crops highly sensitive to Mg deficiencies: Alfalfa, cotton, celery, cereals, cherry, plum, orange, lemon, sunflower, bean, kiwi, lettuce, corn, apple tree, turnip, potato, cucumber, beet, tomato, vine and avocado.
